Mark your calendars and come out to support Independence Elementary at our upcoming Spirit Nights! These fun community events are a great way to enjoy a meal or treat with friends, family, and teachers—all while giving back to our school. Our generous community partners donate a portion of sales from each Spirit Night directly to IES, helping fund school improvements and PTO initiatives.

Do you or your student need new IES gear to celebrate the 10-year anniversary? We will have limited sizes and styles of IES t-shirts available, along with car magnets and fleece blankets, at a pop-up shop in front of the school on the morning of Thursday, January 15th.

All are invited to join our next general meeting. We will discuss past and upcoming events including the family dance, spring carnival, staff appreciation week, and year-end celebrations. Come meet fellow Eagle families, give feedback, and hear how you can get involved.
We'll hold the meeting in the outdoor seating area at the Hamlin Chick-fil-a. Feel free to purchase a meal before or after the meeting using the app during the spirit night event!

Our annual Nifty 50 fundraiser returns this week.
Save 50% off of 18 online orders! That's right...50% off your entire online order 18 different times!
Each $15 card earns the IES PTO $10 and will come with its own unique discount code. Simply enter it in the promo code box at check out and you're headed toward savings!
It will take approximately 14-21 days for the cards to be printed and delivered to the school once the sale date has ended. All orders will be sent home through your student's teacher once they've been delivered. This year's sale runs from 1/12/26 to 1/26/26, and the cards don't expire until 12/31/26. These cards are excellent for gifting, buying pizzas for the office or parties, and any time you need to feed a crowd!

National Elementary Honor Society's Stuffed Animal Donation Drive: January 26th-30th
NEHS students are collecting new and gently-used stuffed animals for donation to children in foster care facilities in the central Florida area and children served by Winter Garden Fire Department, Soul Haven Ranch and Bethany Christian Services. If your house has a stuffie surplus, consider reducing your huggable hoard by donating during the week of 1/26. Shopping carts will be located in the lobby and by carline for collection.

Meet the 2025-26 Executive Board
Join the PTO for the 2025-2026 School Year. Dues of $10 are for one household membership (including all adults and school-age children living in one home) from the time of payment through May 31, 2026. Membership dues are non-refundable. Each membership entitles the member to voting rights at all PTO general meetings for this school year. Additional membership benefits may be added throughout the year. Membership must be active for 30 days before voting rights are activated, and membership must be valid in order to run for an Executive Board position or chair a committee.
*In lieu of paying the $10 membership dues, 5 volunteer hours may be completed for the school or PTO and logged into the ADDitions volunteer system. Once hours are logged and verified by the school, please email us (ieseaglespto@gmail.com) a screenshot of your ADDitions hours to receive a discount code to eliminate the $10 charge when joining via this collection page.
